MOVIE ‘AIRLIFT’ TO IGNITE PATRIOTISM AMONG THE AUDIENCE

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 27th January, 2016: The movie ‘Airlift’ has been strategically put on screen to coincide with the patriotic fervor that merges with the Republic Day as it is based on country’s largest human evacuation ever made in history from Kuwait during its Iraq invasion. The protagonist of the film Akshay Kumar along with Nimrat Kaur was in Kolkata to promote Raja Menon’s film, Airlift. He said he will be playing the part of Ranjit Katyal, the then business tycoon of Kuwait who selflessly took up the responsibility of 1,70,000 Indians captive during Iraq’s sudden invasion in Kuwait. After doing movies like Holiday and Baby he feels like doing movies that are based on real events and that would attract the audience to stimulate patriotism for the nation. The movie starts with the Hero believing in Kuwaiti Citizenship but gradually as the scenario changes the distress of the men of his motherland drives him restless to save those poor souls by using his contacts.
